Job Description
As a Mortgage Loan Officer at Veteran Alliance Bank, you'll be the point person helping veterans navigate the home buying process. This isn't some corporate gig where you're just pushing numbers—you're helping people who served our country get the homes they deserve.
You'll work with veterans, active duty service members, and their families to secure VA home loans. You already know the drill: attention to detail, mission focus, and actually giving a damn about the people you're serving. If you can do that, we want you.
This position is commission-based with a strong base salary. The better you are, the more you make. Simple as that.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide veterans through the entire VA home loan process from pre-qualification to closing
- Build and maintain relationships with real estate agents, builders, and referral partners
- Educate clients on VA loan benefits, requirements, and the home buying process
- Analyze financial information to determine loan eligibility and structuring
- Prepare and submit complete loan packages to underwriting
- Stay current on VA loan guidelines, FHA, conventional, and other mortgage products
- Meet monthly and quarterly sales goals while maintaining compliance standards
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the entire loan process
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Active NMLS license (Nationwide Multistate Licensing System)
- Minimum 2 years of mortgage lending experience
- Strong knowledge of VA loan programs and guidelines
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- U.S. Military Veteran status (Honorable or General Under Honorable Conditions discharge)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of mortgage lending experience
- Established book of business and referral network
- Experience with Encompass or similar LOS (Loan Origination System)
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
- Bilingual (Spanish, Tagalog, or other languages common in military communities)
